Industrial Trust Fund (ITF) was founded in 1971, with the law decree 47 or 1971as amended in the 2011 ITF ACT. The purpose for which the Fund was established has been pursued vigorously. For four decades of its existence, the ITF has not only raised training consciousness in the economy, but has also helped in generating a corps of skilled indigenous manpower which has been managing various sector of the economy today.

Over the years ITF has expanded its structures, developed training programmes. ITF begin as a parastatal “B” in 1971, which was headed by a director, ITF became a Parastatal “A” in 1981, headed by a Director General as the chief Executive under the ages of the Ministry of Industry. The Fund is comprises of a 13 member Governing Council and operates with 6 Departments and 3 Units at the Headquarters, 32 Area Offices, 3 Skills Training Centres and Industrial Training Excellence Centre.

Federal Government of Nigeria needs application from suitably qualified candidates for admission into Fund’s Model Skills Training Centre, Abuja for a two years Vocational Training in selected trade areas for the 2013/2014 session. The programme will award National Institute of Technical Education Certificate, International Of Singapore (Equivalent of OND) and ITF Competency Certificate (COC)

The purpose of the programme is to train and equip youths with advanced employable skills in the following areas:
A) Facility Maintenance Technology (FCT)
B) Information and Communication Technology
C) Culinary Skills Western and African Dishes
D) Mechatronics, Automation and Autotronics
E) Electronics, Computer and Networking
Occupational Areas

A) Facility Maintenance Technology (FCT)

After completing this programme, trainees will be able to plan, install and maintain mechanical and electrical facilities in an establishment

Job Opportunities:
. Those who graduate from this programme are employed by companies providing building management and maintenance services
. there are so many opportunities for career advancement to supervisory positions and beyond
. The graduate from skills area can start their own business
. The major challenge is for trainees to prepare themselves by upgrading their technical skills and knowledge

B) Information and Communication Technology

After completing this programme those who are trained will be able to plan, install and Cary out maintenance work on data communication systems.

Job Opportunities:
. The graduate are employed in the private and public sector.
. You will have opportunities for career advancement to supervisory position and beyond

C) Culinary Skills Western and African Dishes

When you have completed this programme, you will be able to operate a standard kitchen and produce western and African dishes to any international standard

Job Opportunities:
. The graduate here are employed by establishments in restaurants, food and beverages outlets in hotel.
. Graduate here can also start on their own

D) Mechatronics, Automation and Autotronics

On completion of this programme, trainees can easily plan and carry out maintenance work on industrial digital machinery and automotive

Job Opportunities:
. graduate from this programme can be employed by companies in high technology manufacturing and services industries
. It help the trainees to prepare themselves by upgrading their technical skills and knowledge by taking higher level course

E) Electronics, Computer and Networking

On completion of this programme, trainees will be able to maintain, plan, test and repair digital equipment, micro computers, and will be able to also set up and install network equipment

Job Opportunities:
. They are employed in companies and organizations that are into manufacturing of electronics and computer equipments.
. there are good opportunities for career advancement to supervisory position and beyond

Entry Requirements:
Those applying should be below 18 years and must have minimum of five (5) credits with a credit pass in Mathematics, English Language and Physics at SSCE level

The Fees:

Fees are highly subsidized, it is Seven Thousand Naira (N75,000) only For the programme, while Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000) is charge for hotel accommodation and Thirty thousand naira (N30,000) refundable caution fee.

All Completed forms should be returned through sponsoring organization/parents/guardians/with the following

b) Photocopies of all credential
c) Two recent passport photograph is required
d) Two self addressed stamped envelopes
e) Physical fitness medical certificate from a recognized hospital
